“The more slowly trees grow at first, the sounder they are at the core, and I think the same is true of human beings.” - Henry David Thoreau

‍ ‍ Many Rivers Millworks offers woodwork, trim/finish carpentry (residential + commercial), custom furniture, storage solutions, wood repair and restoration. ‍ ‍

Founded by Jesse Kristin in 2023, Many Rivers Millworks is the meeting of woodwork, fine carpentry and native tree species knowledge. Intensely focused on bringing wood's inherent beauty to its fullest glory, Many Rivers celebrates our historic natural building material in ways which ensure its stability and use for generations to come.

Sustainable woods, sourced from our native hardwood/softwood forests here in the United States or reclaimed from old buildings, are carefully milled before treating with high-quality natural finishes. This harmony between native tree knowledge and hard-won skill earned through long days spent in shops and job sites throughout New York City, is the heartwood of Many Rivers Millworks.

After graduating from George Washington University with a B.S. in Molecular Biology, MRM founder Jesse and two of his college friends began recording & touring as an indie-rock band, embarking on what would become a twenty-year-long success in the music business. Appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman and Conan O'Brien, performing sold-out shows nationwide, and releasing over seven studio albums, Jesse’s band Jukebox the Ghost are considered veterans of the 2010s music scene and continue to perform for their enthusiastically devoted fanbase.

When he's at home in Brooklyn and not in a recording studio, Jesse is hard-at-work crafting woodwork at his shop from cedar, fir, pine, cherry, walnut, oak, maple and more. That or he's taking a lunch break with his extremely lazy rescue terrier named Cedar.
